About Ismini:

Ismini Dres (400h RYT Hatha, Vinyasa, Asthanga) is of Greek-American decent and grew up in Athens, Greece.

She moved to England in 2013 to study BSc Nutrition, Exercise & Health at Plymouth University and then moved to Oxford to study MSc Applied Sports & Exercise Nutrition at Oxford Brookes University, where she is now based in.

Ismini has always had a passion for health and fitness, as she used to dance and play ports (tennis and volleyball mainly) growing up. However, she developed and struggled with an eating disorder during her teenage years until her early 20s.  Her health was at stake at one point and it inspired her to explore meditation and yoga, which she ended up falling in love with and finding inner healing.

Ismini then completed her first 200h Hatha & Vinyasa Teacher Training at Paros Yoga Shala, Greece and got the nickname “Yogismini” and started teaching yoga classes at her university in 2015. She fell in love with the practice, way of life, teaching and connecting with others and continues to teach classes over the years in person or face to face. Additionally, she completed her 200h Asthanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at Sampoorna, Goa, India.

She loves to teach all types of practitioners and especially beginners and intermediate as she aspires to make others fall in love with the practice and to empower them to explore their inner & physical strength & capabilities. Her classes tend to be more dynamic / heated in nature, full of cues/ modifications to suit all needs. Meditation, pranayama and awareness of one’s anatomy/ rehab work are also included in her classes. When taking her classes, expect a practice with a focused & playful feel.
